Submissions Guidelines
Words
Scribble is currently closed for submissions. We’re currently reviewing our policies and will announce our open submissions plans for 2025 in March 2025.
We accept picture book, early-childhood concept, junior fiction, and junior and middle-grade graphic novel submissions, in PDF format. They may be fiction or nonfiction. We would prefer one carefully chosen submission per author, rather than multiple submissions.
We are looking for:
Stories created with passion, curiosity, and integrity.
New and empowering ways of thinking: texts that give readers a new set of tools to make sense of the world or a new lens with which to envision it.
Manuscripts that construct a world or an idea with strong potential for an artist to bring their own innovative approach to the illustrations.
Playful fun!
Special stories with a particular Scribble-y zing.
For submissions we require (alongside the manuscript):
A one sentence summary
Project pitch (150 words)
Author biography (150 words)
Pictures
We are happy to accept artwork samples from illustrators year-round. Please provide your CV and 6-10 digital samples of your artwork in JPEG or PDF form (5MB size limit) via this form. We cannot accept samples via email.
